Check-up of recovering patients at Tampere Pitkäniemen hospital
    Rehabilitating drug addicts should not be forced to strip during personal inspection, said Parliamentary Ombudsman Petri Jääskeläinen.   The ombudsman made the comment while criticising the check-up practices at the psychiatry department of the Tampere Pitkäniemen hospital.   According to the hospital guidelines, personal inspections are conducted to two patients at the same time by a nurse of the same sex as the patients; during inspection, the patients have to take off their clothes.   The ombudsman said taking off clothes in presence of other people was against the law.
