A total of 11,803 new motor vehicles were registered in the country in February this year, according to the Statistics Finland.

The report released here on Wednesday said that the first registrations of the vehicles was decreased by 24.6 percent compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.

In February the number of registered new passenger cars was 7,888, which was 25.8 percent lower than the year before.

Out of the vehicles, the number of new diesel-driven passenger cars was 38.4 percent, said the data prepared by the Statistics Finland.

These data was prepared based on the Vehicular and Driver Data Register of the Finnish Transport Safety Agency.

The report also said that 27256 new vehicles were registered in the first two months of the year 2013.

The most common new passenger cars registered in the January and February were Volkswagen, Toyota and Volvo said the report.
