The price of alcoholic products in Finland is 75 percent higher compared to the EU average price while the prices of food items and non-alcoholic beverages are 19 percent higher than the EU average.
Norway is the most expensive country for all kinds of food, alcoholic, non-alcoholic and tobacco items while Macedonia is the cheapest place in the EU.
The price level in Austria, Ireland and Luxembourg is as same as Finland, said the report. The price of alcoholic products is much higher in Finland due to high tax rate while the alcohol price is lowest in Bulgaria among the EU countries due to low tax.
The cheapest places for tobacco products are Hungary, Lithuania, Bulgaria and Poland where the price was 60 percent lower compared to the EU average.
