The output of total industries adjusted for working days was 1.7 per cent lower in September 2013 compared to September 2012, according to the Statistics Finland. 
 
In the January to September period, industrial output adjusted for working days went down by 4.2 per cent from twelve months back, said a press release of the institute on Friday.

Seasonally adjusted output fell in September by 0.6 per cent compared to the previous month.  
 
Industrial output diminished in several main industries in September.
 
Output fell most in the electrical and electronics industry, by 9.3 per cent, according to the statistics.

In the metal industry, output went down by 6.8 per cent from the previous year.
 
Among main industries, output increased by most, or by close on 15 per cent, in the chemical industry. In the forest industry, output also grew by 0.7 per cent from one year ago.
