The number of new passenger cars registered was 5,923 in December 2013, which was 7.7% down from the year before.
 
During the time, a total of 10,144 new motor vehicles were registered, of which 7,307 were automobiles, says the Statistics Finland’s data. 
 
First registrations increased by 0.4% from the corresponding month of the previous year. 
 
The share of new diesel-driven passenger cars was 47.1%.

The most common passenger car makes first registered in the January to December period were Volkswagen, Toyota and Skoda, according to the data based on the Vehicular and Driver Data Register of the Finnish Transport Safety Agency.   
 
In the January to December period of 2013, a total of 172,043 vehicles were first registered. Compared to the year before, there was a decrease of 10.3%. 
 
The number of passenger cars first registered in the January to December period was 103,450, which was 7% per cent down from the year before.
