The Ministry for Foreign Affairs on Wednesday organised the second open hearing session concerning EU-US trade negotiations launched in June 2013, said a government press release on Thursday.
 
The third round of negotiations was conducted in December 2013 while the fourth round will be held on 10-14 March in Brussels.
 
At the hearing, the European Affairs and Foreign Trade Minister Alexander Stubb took stock of the current situation of the negotiations and Finland's key goals.
 
Furthermore, the Minister announced that he will travel to the United States at the beginning of April to meet with US Trade Representative Michael Froman, who is the main negotiator for the US in the trade negotiations.
 
Other speakers at the event included American Chamber of Commerce in Finland (Amcham Finland) CEO Kristiina Helenius, Chief Economist of Central Organisation of Finnish Trade Unions (SAK) Olli Koski and Efla Oy Managing Director Jarmo Virtanen.
 
The next hearing session on the subject will be held at the beginning of April.
