Employers are violating work regulations and agreements with the employees in a number of workplaces, says a survey report by the Central Organization of Finnish Trade Unions (SAK).

The survey revealed that 32% of the respondents from the union trustees said their employers were culpable of breaking the binding rules and agreements.

The report established that the infringement was exacerbated in the transport sector with 60% of the trustees reporting employer infringement.

Pressure was also reported to be high at work with 19% of the trustees claiming that excessive pressure contributed to degradation of working conditions.

Work pressure has been established to be particularly high in the transport sector compared to the other industries.

A quarter of the union trustees in the transport sector also admitted to excessive pressure at work place.

The report also said the level of employer infringement was higher in larger companies.

The survey was conducted in December last year interviewing 1,174 trustees and work safety representatives.
