Half of the funding will come from the European Union and the other half from the state exchequer.
The fund will be used to provide assistance in mentoring and coaching, education, promoting mobility and entrepreneurship, and subsistence allowance.
The decision will affect laid-off workers in Salo, Espoo, Oulu and Tampere.
Finland received another funding from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund a year ago aimed supporting the laid-off workers from Nokia’s Salo plant.
