The Austrian unemployment rate increased 0.6 percent in 2013, with a corresponding rise in part-time employment, Statistics Austria revealed in a press release Thursday.
In real terms, the number of the unemployed rose by 26,100 to a total of 215,200 people, while the number of the employed decreased by 8,600 to 4.2 million.
In total, the number of full-time jobs dropped by 45,000, but part-time jobs increased 36,400.
Data also showed that the number of job openings fell to 65,000 last year, almost 5,000 fewer than 2012.
Statistics Austria said men were more affected by the decrease in full-time employment.
