The unemployment has slightly increased in the country with the number of unemployed persons in the country in February 2014 standing at 241,000, which is 10,000 higher than during the period one year ago.
According to Statistics Finland's Labour Force Survey, the unemployment rate was 9.1 per cent, having been 8.7 per cent in February of the year before.
There were 26,000 fewer employed persons than in February of the previous year.
The number of persons in the inactive population was 25,000 higher in February 2014 than one year earlier.
In February 2014, the number of employed persons was 2,405,000, about 26,000 lower than a year earlier (margin of error ±32,000).
There were slightly more employed men and 28,000 fewer employed women than in February 2013.

In February 2014, the employment rate, that is, the proportion of the employed among persons aged 15 to 64, stood at 66.9 per cent, having been 67.6 per cent one year earlier.
Men's employment rate was 67.3 per cent and women's 66.5 per cent. Adjusted for seasonal and random variation, the trend of the employment rate was 68.3 per cent.
According to Statistics Finland's Labour Force Survey, there were 241,000 unemployed in February 2014, that is, 10,000 more than one year earlier (margin of error ±17,000).
The number of unemployed men was 138,000 and that of women 103,000.
At 9.1 per cent, the unemployment rate in February was 0.4 percentage points higher than one year earlier.
Men's unemployment rate was 10.1 per cent and women's 8.1 per cent. The trend of the unemployment rate was 8.5 per cent.
