The Eurojackpot is a transnational European lottery, accessible in 14 European countries.
A local R-kiosk shop located in Tojalla where the ticket was bought from was more buzzing than usual on Saturday morning. According to Veikkaus, the national betting agency, the winning combination was bought at the Hallamäentie R-kiosk.
The news attracted many curious faces to the kiosk, located in Tampere.
“The queue has been there pretty much throughout the day. People are amazed and curious,” said kiosk manager Mari Kosunen.
He, however, said that identities of the jackpot winners were not known until then.
In the past, winners of Eurojackpot in the country were from South Ostrobothnia. The previous record for the jackpot prize was €29.5m – claimed last year in Seinäjoki.
Finnish gamblers spent €7m during the week that saw the biggest ever jackpot claim.
