FTimes-STT Report, May 9

The board of directors of the local government pension-provider Keva has nominated Jukka Männistö as the next CEO.

Männistö currently is the managing director at Finnish Student Health Service (FSHS).

The appointment of the new CEO will be announced on May 20.

Laura Räty, chair of Keva board of directors said the employee benefits of the new CEO will be discussed once an appointment is made. She, however, said the prevailing mindset in the Keva board is against granting any housing benefit.

According to Räty, the first task of the new CEO would be to restore confidence in Keva within as well as outside.

Former Keva CEO Merja Ailuksen resigned in late-2013 over corruption allegations.

The graft allegations against Ailuksen include deliberately undervaluing her housing company to evade tax and lack of transparency in the process through which she bought an expensive car.

She was also criticised for EUR 250,000 renovation work commissioned on her company housing.
