Finnish export went down by 3 per cent in March compared to a year ago, according to the statistics from the Finnish Customs.

The drop in export was attributed to a fall in export prices, since the volume of exports had grown by 2 per cent.

The value of Finnish export in total was almost 4.6 billion euros.

The import volume declined in March as well. The value of imports also declined by 6 per cent standing at 4.7 billion euros.

Both import and export of energy declined significantly, reflecting the highest drop in all the product categories.

On the other hand, export of forest industry products and electric and electronics industry products in the month increased.

Exports to other EU member countries increased by 7 per cent while exports to the rest of the world fell drastically. Trading with Russia saw the biggest decrease.
