In the wider 28-member EU, the overall unemployment rate in April was 10.4 percent, down from 10.5 percent in March, Eurostat figures showed.
Eurostat estimated that 25.471 million people in the EU, of whom 18.751 million were in the eurozone, were unemployed in April. The number of jobless people decreased by 151,000 in the EU and by 76,000 in the eurozone from the month before.
