The Ostrobothnia police on Friday said they are investigating cases of 50-euro counterfeit notes in South Ostribothnia region.

The police on Thursday warned people to pay special attention to 50- and 20-euro notes. The fake banknotes spread to Oulu in the beginning of summer.

The fake notes came in circulation in recent times in the area between the Gulf of Bothnia coastal region of Southwest Finland and Oulu.

Usually, the fake notes are distributed during summer time and in different public events.
