The German shipyard Meyer Werft, which is contemplating the purchase of Turku Shipyard, has received new orders to build two cruise ships for Norwegian Cruise Line.
 
The company in a statement said the billion-dollar ships are expected to be delivered in 2018 and 2019.
 
The passenger berth in each ship will fit around 4,200 passengers.
 
Meyer Werft said it was thrilled with the deal.
 
Meyer Werft together with the Finnish government plans to buy STX Finland’s Turku Shipyard.
