Frauds in guise of the authorities of different commercial banks attempted to steal personal and bank card information including the online banking code over the telephone and via the e-mail.

Säästöpankki-Finnish Savings Bank Group warned the people of the cheating move and suggested not to respond to the frauds.

The e-mail message by the frauds inform recipients that online banking services are to be discontinued and ask to click the link in the message for services to be continued.

The bank warns that the link should not be opened and neither should anyone give the requested details over the phone.

In case one has opened the link and then receives a call from someone purporting to be a bank clerk, should refrain from giving away his or her bank codes or other confidential information.

Similar messages were also been sent in the name of Aktia and Nordea banks.
