Finance Minister Antti Rinne on Wednesday announced a Euro 53.4 billion budget draft for 2015.

The proposal, which sticks to saving measures decided earlier, includes measures to support growth, boost employment and increase people’s purchasing power.

The proposal reveals a budget-deficit decline of more than 3 billion euros. In spring the deficit was approximated at 7.1 billion euros. Next year, the state debt is estimated at about 100 billion euros.

The draft includes new additional investment of 88 million euros in transport infrastructure for the coming year.

Measures are also considered to tackle the mismatch between unemployment and vacancies.

The draft proposal includes tax measures in the government programme that supports domestic demand. Tax deduction for low- and middle-income families with children will be implemented next year.

The purchasing power of low- and middle-income pensioners will also be supported. Low- and middle-income pensioners will be given a raise of 10 euros a month.

The government in June also decided on new measures to support the growth of small and medium enterprises. The ability of Finnvera, a specialised state-owned financing company, to finance the growth and internationalisation of small and medium businesses will be expanded.
