A Finn won the highest-ever Euro-Jackpot of 61.2 million in the Europe-wide lottery that took place on Friday, said the state-run betting company Veikkaus.

The holder of the ticket of the only direct hit is a player who lives in northern Espoo. It was the fourth jackpot to have arrived in Finland.

Finland also won full matches of 29 million euro and 21 million euro pots that went to South Ostrobothnia.

Finland is one of the 14 countries that have been participating in the Euro-Jackpot since 2012.

The winner bought the ticket online and the awarded amount will be sent directly to the bank account of the winner, said sources.
