Information technology service-providing company Tieto on Wednesday announced that it had initiated statutory negotiations in its product development unit.
The personnel negotiations in Finland cover 350 employees. The company estimates that the number of redundancies will be less than 300.
The company’s largest product development services units are located in Tampere, Espoo and Oulu.
In addition, the company will make personnel cuts of up to 600 employees in Central Europe and Asia.
The redundancies are set to be realised in the next six months.
According to information, the redundancies have been necessitated by the facts that the company’s major customer has embarked upon using its own personnel on product development and that the demand for information technology services has declined.
