Producer prices of manufactured products fell by an average of 0.3 per cent from October 2013 to October 2014, mainly due to decreased prices of oil products, according to Statistics Finland.
The producer prices of manufactured products sold on the domestic market went down by 1.0 per cent, while the producer prices of export products went up by 0.6 per cent.
Producer prices for manufactured products went down especially due to reductions in the prices of oil products and electricity from last year's October, said the statistics.
The fall in producer prices was slowed down, in particular, by higher prices of manufacturing of basic metals.
The Export Price Index rose by 0.3 per cent and the Import Price Index fell by 1.3 per cent in the year, the data show.
The Basic Price Index for Domestic Supply went down by 1.0 per cent. And the Basic Price Index for Domestic Supply including taxes went down by 0.7 per cent.
Export prices were, in particular, boosted by the higher prices of manufacturing of basic metals and chemicals and chemical products from October 2013.
