The consolidated total general government revenue grew by EUR 1.4 billion in the third quarter of 2014 from the respective quarter of the previous year.

Correspondingly, the consolidated expenditure increased by EUR 0.6 billion and so the deficit (net borrowing) of the general government decreased by EUR 0.9 billion, according to Statistics Finland’s data.

The total revenue increased by 5.3 per cent from the previous quarter with the total expenditure up by 1.6 per cent from the previous quarter.

In the third quarter of 2014, the general government deficit stood at EUR 0.2 billion, show the data derived from statistics on general government revenue and expenditure by quarter.

General government is comprised of central government, local government and social security funds.

In the third quarter, central government's total revenue amounted to EUR 13.2 billion and total expenditure was EUR 14.0 billion.

 The biggest source of income growth was property income as per the statistics.
