Energy company Fortum Shareholder’s Nomination Board in the company’s annual general meeting proposed an increase in the fees paid to the chairman, deputy chair and board members.

The nomination board proposed to increase the fee to 90,000 euros a year for the chairman, 65,000 for the deputy chairman and 45,000 to each board member.

The current fee paid to the chairman is 65,000 euros, whereas the vice chairman is paid 57,000 euros. Each board member gets 45,000 euros a year at present.

A proposal for paying 600 euros for each board and board committee meeting was also forwarded during the meeting.

Sari Baldauf, current chair of the board, was proposed for re-election. She had previously worked at a senior position at Nokia. Baldauf is also a member of the company’s shareholders’ nomination board.

Kim Ignatius was also proposed for re-election as deputy chair. Ignatius is also the chair of the audit and risk committee of Fortum’s board.
