Over the same period, the volume of retail trade sales, from which the impact of prices has been eliminated, went down by 1.4 per cent.
In daily consumer goods trade, sales contracted by 0.9 per cent and the sales volume by 1.0 per cent from the corresponding period of the previous year, the data show.
There were 24 weekday trading days in December 2014, which is one day more than in December 2013.
The share of daily consumer goods of turnover in retail trade was 47.6 per cent in 2012, according to the Business Register.
Data on trade sales by industry will next be released on 12 February 2015.
