Finns in 2014 bet less on the national lottery compared to the previous year while, on the contrary, they looked for big wins in the Eurojackpot lottery.

The lottery revenue last year declined by 10 per cent to 431 million euros, whereas the Eurojackpot revenue rose by over 50 per cent to 160 million euros.

Eurojackpot prizes amounting to over 50 million euros were claimed in the country last year.

National betting company Veikkaus also improved its revenue by 2.8 per cent to approximately 520 million euros. The revenue of the gambling monopoly increased by 5.4 per cent to nearly two

billion euros. The popularity of sports and other daily gambling of Veikkaus also saw an increase.
