Finland is ranked fifth in the latest update on the Women in Work Index of the consultants, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
The rest of the countries ahead of Finland on the list are Denmark, Sweden and New Zealand.
However, the country is in the best position when the proportion of women workforce is taken into account.
The country is also lagging behind when men’s wage is compared with women’s.
The index takes into account the equality of earnings with men, proportion of women in work, gap between female and male labour force participation, female unemployment rate and the proportion of women in full-time employment.
The index ranks 27 developed economies of the world.
