A total of 69 million tonnes of goods were transported by lorries in the fourth quarter of 2014, according to Statistics Finland’s data.
The volume of transported soil materials decreased by 25 per cent and the volume of transport for other goods increased by 11 per cent compared to the fourth quarter in 2013.
The total transport volume of lorries amounted to 5.1 billion tonne-kilometres in the fourth quarter of 2014, which was 13 per cent less than in the corresponding quarter in 2013 as per the data derived from the statistics on goods transport by road.
Ninety-three per cent of the volume was transported in professional transport and seven per cent in private transport.
