The value of Finnish exports decreased by four percent, whereas the  value of imports decreased by two percent in February compared to the imports and exports during the corresponding month of the previous year, according to foreign trade preliminary statistics provided by the Finnish Customs.
 
The value of Finnish exports in February was almost 4.2 billion euros, while the value of imports was slightly under 4.4 billion euros, confirmed the statement from the Customs.
 
The trade balance showed a deficit of 200 million euros in February. Calculated from January to February 2015 there was a deficit of 525 million euros. Under the same period in the year 2014 the balance of trade showed a deficit of 675 million euros. In 2014 the trade balance for February showed a deficit of 150 million euros.
 
Exports to EU member states increased by one per cent in February while exports to non-EU countries decreased by ten per cent. 
 
On the other hand, imports from European Union countries decreased by one per cent while imports from non-EU countries decreased by four percent. 
 
Calculated from the beginning of the year, exports to EU decreased by five percent and to non-EU countries by ten. During the same period imports from EU member states fell by six per cent and from other countries by 11 per cent.
