Nordea financial group has reached a decision to stop lending to private Russia customers citing the risks as too high, reported international news agency Reuters.

According to Reuters, Nordea's lending in Russia is 6.6 billion euros which accounts to about 2 percent of its total lending. Lending to private Russian companies is around 300 million euros.

As a consequence, Nordea will close its branch network and will not extend current credits to customers when they expire.

In Russia, Nordea mainly lends to global businesses less sensitive to the falling rouble and political uncertainty than those with dealings only in Russia, said Reuters.
