Telecommunications giant Ericsson plans to withdraw 95 jobs from its research and development department and starts co-determination negotiations next Monday.
The planned reduction in staff affects mainly employees in Kirkkonummi. The R&D unit in Oulu will not be affected.
The planned layoffs are part of the concern's long-term savings program announced in November. In March, the concern announced that it would be terminating more than 2000 jobs in Sweden.
Ericsson employs nearly 1000 people in Finland, most of whom work in Jorvas in Kirkkonummi.
According to a company press release, negotiations between employer and employees sought ways to employ the laid off workers elsewhere in the company.
