Aviator Finland is set to axe 75 ground handling workers at the Helsinki Airport.

The company initial redundancy need was estimated to over a hundred employees before the start of the statutory negotiations.

"We are trying to save relationships, so that as much as possible would be laid off or be moved to part time," said Veijo Karosvuo the managing director at Aviator Finland.

The company will lay off up to 42 employees and 20 employees will be transferred to part time.

The company was forced to restructure its operations due to Norwegian airline’s decision to transfer its passenger and ground handling services to Finavia owned Airpro starting in September.
