Tue, 28 Apr, 2015 12:04:33 AM FTimes – STT Report, April 28 File Photo – Lehtikuva. Stores, barber shops and hairdressers may soon be allowed to apply for an opening-hour exemption by filling out standard applications for the Regional State Administrative Agency.
According to Inspector General Anu Nieminen, free-form applications will still be accepted.
The standard form was introduced in order to facilitate and accelerate the application process. Before the new forms, most applications came by e-mail or post.
According to Nieminen, companies that apply for the exemption, especially first-timers, have wished for a form that would help guide them in successfully navigating the exemption process.
The Lapland Regional State Administrative Agency manages opening-hour exemptions for all of Finland’s retail stores, barber shops and hairdressers.
According to the agency, more applications have arrived already in this year than were received in last year.
