The store, located in downtown Helsinki, had been the flagship retail store of the former Finnish mobile phone manufacturer Nokia. It was renamed to Microsoft store in November 2014, after Nokia sold its phone business to Microsoft. The store, which served customers with Microsoft software, computers and other consumer electronics, as well as Nokia phones, had operated under Microsoft's brand for less than six months. Tomi Kuuppelomaki, Communications Manager of Microsoft Finland, told Yle that Microsoft will focus sales of its consumer devices online and via other retailers and telecom operators. The shutdown of its store in Helsinki was almost simultaneous with Microsoft's move to rebrand retail stores of Nokia's former global sales network, which began in April this year. More News
