Nokia is set to initiate statutory negotiations which could see up to 70 employees lose their jobs.
 
The negotiations will concern Nokia Technologies unit.
 
Riitta Mård from Nokia media relations estimates the final redundancies to remain clearly below the stated maximum number.
 
Nokia Technologies employs 650 people of which about 400 work in Finland. In Finland, Nokia Technologies are based in Espoo, Tampere and Oulu.
 
Nokia Technologies is tasked with developing new innovations and manages the company's patent portfolio as well as licensing patents to other companies.
 
The news on Nokia's statutory negotiations was first run by national broadcaster Yle.
