The Eurozone international trade in goods was expected to witness a surplus of 23.4 billion euros (26.18 billion U.S. dollars) in March, up from 16.1 billion euros in March 2014, the statistical office of the European Union (EU) Eurostat said on Tuesday.

     On a year-on-year basis, seasonally adjusted exports and imports rose by 11 percent and 7 percent respectively in the eurozone in March.

     Meanwhile, the 28-nation EU was estimated to have a trade surplus of 10.7 billion euros in March, up from a surplus of 3.6 billion euros in March 2014.

     In the January to March period, eurozone recorded a surplus of 52.6 billion euros, compared with 30.7 billion euros in the same period of 2014, while the EU registered a surplus of 3.8 billion euros, compared with a deficit of 5.8 billion euros in 2014.
