FTimes Report, June 6

Under-Secretary of State for external economic relations Matti Anttonen will visit Egypt from 7 to 10 June 2015 and Algeria from 10 to 12 June 2015, accompanied by

representatives of seventeen Finnish companies, according to a press release of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs .

The aim of the trade mission is to raise awareness of Finnish companies and their products in Egypt and Algeria, to explore new markets and to promote the business activities of Finnish enterprises already based in the countries.

Finnish companies' projects are to be promoted in meetings at ministerial and company level and in events organised for networking.

Anttonen and his delegation will meet ministers and representatives of Chambers of Commerce and the business life as well as, for example, representatives of the World Bank, the European Investment Bank and the Central Bank of Egypt, said the release issued on Friday.

Egypt and Algeria are the biggest targets of Finnish exports in Africa.

There is a long tradition of trade between Egypt and Finland and the trade has now taken a brisk upward trend.

Algeria, an oil and gas producing country that is nearly free from debt, has doubled its gross national product in the past few years.
