The data networks of telecommunication company Elisa resumed normal operations after the internet connections went down on Friday.
Lasse Huttunen, the company's service management director confirmed the problem had been fixed at 2:30 pm. The cause behind the disruption is yet to be confirmed.
The problem began to manifest on Friday morning and by noon it had spread nationwide.
The disruption affected Elisa mobile and fixed data network connection.
According to Huttunen, the disruption could have affected tens of thousands of customers. Some of the networks were completely cut off.
The problem also affected Saunalahti customers since Saunalahti operates within Elisa's network.
The glitch did not affect making and receiving of calls.
