Blueberry harvest this year is expected to be abundant and soar around 30 kilograms per hectare, if the weather is favourable, according to the Natural Resources Institute Finland.

A week-long drought period may, however, reduce the production.

Rich blooming and successful pollination of blueberry points to a bumper harvest. Furthermore, blueberry twigs overwintered exceptionally well because of the thick snow cover.

Blueberry will be ripe and ready for harvest towards the end of July in south and central Finland, while in Lapland, blueberry will be ripe for harvest at the beginning of August.

Similarly, lingonberry and cloudberry bloomed in abundance.
