Funding for the Croatian company Migrit Solarna Energija in its participation in the planned Fennovoima nuclear power project will be obtained from the EU region, said the boss of the company, Grigory Edel, who is visiting Helsinki on Friday.

Edel arrived in Finland on Thursday and confirmed that together with Maksim Soloshchanskiy they own Migrit Energija and its subsidiary Migrit Solarna Energija.

The two are both Russian born Croatian citizens.

Grigory Edel and Elina Engman, the CEO of Voimaosakeyhtiö SF met with media representatives on Friday. They, however, did not divulge whether they had met the Economic Affairs Minister, Olli Rehn.

Edel revealed that negotiations on the participation in the nuclear power plant project began five weeks ago.

Voimaosakeyhtiö SF CEO Engman said a Finnish consultancy firm had found Voimaosakeyhtiö SF a new shareholder in a Croatian company. Engman, however, did not reveal the identity of the consultancy firm.

According to Edel, funding of the Croatian company for its part in the Fennovoima projects will come from a few European banks, and the company will as well receive support from Jewish community in Croatia and Austria. Edel, however, did not name the banks.
