A total of 15,497 new motor vehicles were registered in June 2015, of which 10,275 were automobiles.
 
First registrations decreased by 1.8 per cent from the corresponding month of the previous year, according to Statistics Finland’s data. 
 
In June, the number of new passenger cars registered was 8,976, which was 2.5 per cent down from the year before.
 
The share of new diesel-driven passenger cars was 35.6 per cent as per the data based on the
Vehicular and Driver Data Register of the Finnish Transport Safety Agency.
 
The numbers are exclusive of the vehicles on the Åland Islands.
 
A total of 92,506 vehicles were first registered in the January to June period of 2015. Compared to the year before, there was a decrease of 4.4 per cent.
 
The number of passenger cars first registered in the January to June period was 57,085, which is 3.5 per cent down from the year before.
 
The most common passenger car makes first registered in the January to June period were Volkswagen, Toyota and Skoda, the data show.
