Finnish business magnate Casimir Ehrnrooth passed away on Wednesday at the age of 84 following a sudden illness.
 
The news of his death was confirmed to the news agency STT by one of his children.
 
Ehrnrooth held several positions of economic significance in a career spanning several decades
 
Ehrnrooth served as the chairman of Nokia Corporations between 1992 and 1999 and also the chair of the forestry company Kymmene Oy between 1991 and 1996. He was also the director of UPM-Kymmene.
 
He also served on the board of Nordea predecessor Merita-Nordbanken in the 1990s.
