Vihreä liitto (Green League) parliamentarians Hanna Halmeenpää and Pro Hanhikivi have filed a complaint with the Chancellor of Justice on the measures taken by the Ministry of Employment and the Economy and the Northern Finland Regional State Administrative Agency regarding the process of setting up a nuclear power plant in Pyhäjoki.

Halmeenpää and Pro Hanhikivi, an association against the construction of the nuclear power plant in Pyhäjoki criticised the Ministry's decision to grant Fennovoima an opportunity to supplement the construction permit application and ordering not to publicise further clarification regarding the company's ownership.

The complainants were also critical of the Regional State Administrative Agency for granting Fennovoima water permits and the work's preparation permit when the project is still under scrutiny.

“It is outrageous that Fennovoima has obtained permit to begin cliff blasts, the excavation of shipping channel in low lying sea areas and dismantling of summer cottages," Halmeenpää said in a release.

Pro Hanhikivi has also applied to the Administrative Court of Vaasa for stopping the implementation of the granted water permits and the preparation permit.
