Fri, 07 Aug, 2015 12:35:33 AM FTimes Report, Aug 7 File Photo – Lehtikuva. The number of new passenger cars registered in July 2015 was 8,721, which was 8.8 per cent up from the corresponding period of the year before, according to Statistics Finland.
A total of 13,896 new motor vehicles were registered, of which 9,740 were automobiles, during the month.
First registrations increased by 3.2 per cent from the corresponding month of the previous year.
The share of new diesel-driven passenger cars was 32.1 per cent as per the data based on the Vehicular and Driver Data Register of the Finnish Transport Safety Agency.
A total of 106,413 vehicles were first registered in the January to July period of 2015, the statistics show. Compared to the year before, there was a decrease of 3.4 per cent.
The number of passenger cars first registered in the January to June period was 65,810, which is 2.0 per cent down from the year before.
The most common passenger car makes first registered in the January to July period were Volkswagen, Toyota and Skoda.
