Lingonberry matures for picking in southern and central parts of the country as well as in cool climate forests around the tenth day of September.
The Lingonberry harvest in Kainuu region begins after mid-September and in Lapland it will kick off in the end of September.
A record 64.5 million kilograms of berries is expected to be harvested this year of which 12.5 million kilograms will be harvested by foreign pickers and the rest is accounts for the share picked for domestic consumption.
Luke said around 25 million kilograms of Lingonberry and 22 million kilograms of blueberries will be picked for household consumption.
