In a statement, the company said the plans are part of a restructuring programme aimed at improving competitiveness of its manufacturing operations and distribution network.
According to the company, ceramics production in the country is not sustainable due to the increased price competition and challenging economic situation.
Since 2013 the Helsinki ceramics factory has been focusing primarily on manufacturing flat products, such as plates and saucers.
The company said the vast majority of its ceramic manufacturing is currently located outside the country.
Following the changes, the company announced that it was initiating co-determination talks covering 130 employees at the Helsinki ceramic factory.
According to the company, the possible permanent reduction of the employees is estimated to affect the entire personnel in the Helsinki ceramics factory.
