Turkish entrepreneur Cem Ulusoy, who supplies food to 15 kindergartens in Rovaniemi, has been running his restaurant, Turkoosi, in the city for long.

''We offer food to kids and older people. It's home-made and Finnish. We don't cook with readymade food'', Ulusoy said.

He came to Rovaniemi as part of a team negotiating the purchae of a hotel in Lapland by a multinational company from Istanbul 18 years ago. He met his

wife in Rovaniemi and has chosen to stay here since then.

''I like this country although social life is limited here. I miss my friends in Turkey. But I have my family here and kids are happy,'' said  Ulusoy, who thinks that food business in

Rovaniemi is a good option.

''Food business here is not that competitive. It is one of the good options I made'', he said. ''I enjoy my work now and I am happy. But it is not always easy. You need to sacrifice

a lot of your social and family time. It demands hard working. I had to run the restaurant for a long time without earning money. But I didn't give up.''

People in Rovaniemi, Ulusoy thinks, have less social activities and they go out dining less, which makes restaurants difficult to find customers.

His restuarant offers mainly Finnish food but sometimes, Russian, Afghanistan and food of other countries are also served.

In addition to the food business, Ulusoy runs the business of renting conference rooms, and sauna rooms, making the most of the buildings.
