A total of 63 million tonnes of goods were transported by lorries in the second quarter of 2015, which was six per cent less than in the corresponding quarter of the year before.
 
The volume of transported soil materials decreased by 17 per cent and the volume of transport for other goods increased by two per cent compared to the corresponding quarter in 2014, according to Statistics Finland’s data on goods transport by road.
 
The total transport volume of lorries amounted to 4.7 billion tonne-kilometres in the second quarter of 2015, which was 14 per cent less than in the corresponding quarter of one year before.
 
Ninety-five per cent of the transport volume was transported in professional transport and five per cent in private transport, the statistics show.
