The impact of Volkswagen diesel emission on Finland is yet to be ascertained.

The authority of the Transport Safety Agency-Trafi is still unaware of how deeply the diesel emissions scandal will impact Finland, reported national broadcaster Yle quoting an official of Trafi.

According to a release from the company, internal evaluation established that a service procedure is required for five million vehicles from the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand out of a total eleven million Group vehicles worldwide.

Volkswagen has announced plan to refit diesel vehicles in order to correct the emissions characteristics of the affected vehicles.

In the first step, the affected customers will be informed that the emissions characteristics of their vehicles will be corrected in the near future.

Under the action plan, Volkswagen and the other Group brands whose vehicles are affected will present the technical solutions and measures to the responsible authorities in October.
