Information technology services generated 15 per cent more turnover in 2014 than a year before, according to Statistics Finland's business services statistics. 

 

The indisputable engines of growth were enterprises producing publishing and publication services for computer games.

 

In addition to a considerable growth in the gaming industry, positive development in the information technology industry also occurred in software downloads and online software publishing services, data processing, hosting and related services, and other products and services, the data show.

 

The turnover of other service items decreased from 2013.

 

Nearly one-half of information technology services were sold abroad and 87 per cent of the turnover was collected from public sector customers.

 

Of other business services industries, turnover increased in employment services, legal services, accounting, bookkeeping and auditing services, market research services, and architectural and engineering design services.

 

In contrast, turnover was falling in advertising and media agency services, management consulting services and technical testing and analysis services.
