The vehicle recall by German car manufacturer Volkswagen also applies to Finland as well as other European Union countries, said Toni Pallaspuro the head of vehicle department at the Finnish Transport Safety Agency-Trafi.
According to estimates, there are about 64,000 emission manipulated cars manufactured by the Volkswagen Group brand in the country which have to be corrected.
Volkswagen on Thursday outlined plans to recall 8.5 million affected vehicles in the European Union.
According to Pallaspuro, the exact timetable has not yet been specified and neither has the Trafi been contacted by the carmaker.
